WITH SIMPLY COREY PHOTOGRAPHY
Thank you for trusting Simply Corey Photography with your memories! Please take a moment to read through the information on this page to find everything you need to know regarding your portrait experience with me. Of course, you are always welcome to contact me with any questions you may have. The fastest way to reach me is via email: corey@simplycoreyphoto.com. I look forward to working with you!
This page is best viewed on a desktop or laptop due to the amount of information!
If you haven't already, please take a few minutes to complete my client questionnaire and client contract. This will allow me to get to know you a little better and to better prepare for our upcoming session together. This is due prior to our session.
First and foremost - be YOU! I want you to be yourself in front of the camera during your portrait session so choose clothing you are comfortable in. Ladies, if you don't normally wear dresses, you don't have to! Guys, if you don't like the feel of a tie, then don't wear one!
Newer (not faded or pilly), proper fitting, wrinkle-free clothing photographs best. The camera picks up more than you think!
Sleeves are more flattering than sleeveless tops on both guys and girls and make sure bottoms fit comfortably and aren't too tight to prevent unflattering bulges.
I recommend bringing at least 5 complete outfits in a variety of colors and styles, including accessories. If you have your session on location (with limited places to change), I suggest a couple different bottoms that match with a variety of tops.
Girls, I recommend wearing a fitted camisole under your shirts to make changing in public easier. Jeans can also be pulled on and off easily under dresses for a quick change. Remember to bring the right bras for each outfit (strapless, etc)!
You can check out the "what to wear" inspiration on the Simply Corey Photography Pinterest boards if you need help or suggestions!
These sessions are all about YOU and who you are. Bring items that are meaningful to you! Are you involved in sports? Dance? Music? Cheerleading? We can work with your uniforms, jerseys, letterman jacket, musical instruments, your car, sports equipment, your artwork, your pet - just about anything!
Please let me know ahead of time if you have something in mind that you would like to incorporate into your images so I can plan ahead!
Minor retouching is included and covers small blemishes or bruises from sports, etc. If extensive editing is needed, there will be an additional retouching fee.
Sunburns and uneven tans or tan lines will not be retouched without additional fees. Please plan ahead to avoid uneven coloring from ball caps, peeling skin on your face, “raccoon eyes” from wearing sunglasses, tan lines on shoulders, etc.
A fresh shave for guys is recommended and any facial hair should be neatly trimmed.
I recommend not trying a new style or cut at the last minute and plan on wearing your hair in a style you're comfortable with. If you need a haircut before your session, plan to do so at least 1 week before to allow for a more natural look. Work with any desired hairstyles a few days before your session to get the look you want in advance.
If you dye your hair, please make sure your roots are touched up prior to our session since these cannot be retouched.
Girls and guys alike should stay away from hair products that make the hair reflective or "crispy".Yes! I love animals and you are more than welcome to include your furbabies in your portrait session. Just let me know ahead of time that you want them in your photos!
Even if you don't normally wear makeup, I encourage girls to at least wear a light coat of mascara and some lip balm or chapstick.
Avoid glitter, sparkles, highlighters, and too much lip gloss or lotion since all of these tend to reflect light and can leave spots on your skin in your images.
You are welcome to apply your makeup as you normally do or have your makeup done professionally by a local MUA or makeup counter. I do recommend bringing some with you in case you need a touch-up.
Don't forget about your hands! Trim your nails and remove any old nail polish. If you do add color to your nails, make sure it complements all of your clothing choices.
Be sure to get a good night's rest before your session. If you have a late night, your eyes will show it.
Don’t be late! Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to get ready and arrive at your session. You won't want to be rushed and you want to look and feel your best.
You are welcome to bring a parent or friend with you to ease any "photo shoot jitters". They can also help out by carrying your things on location, your hair, etc.

We will have a great time together! I am very laid back and will make every attempt to make you comfortable in front of the camera.
I will be taking a good mix of loosely posed and candid photos during our session and will guide you as needed. Natural expressions are so much better than forced smiles, so you can expect me to (attempt to) make you laugh!
And since these are your images and I want you to love them, please let me know in advance if you have something specific in mind!
As a mother to 5, I completely understand getting sick or injured, I just ask that you notify me as soon as possible if you need to reschedule. If you're sick, it will show in their portraits and I want you to look your best!
If inclement weather is forecast for the day of our session, we can wait until up to 1 hour before to decide if we should reschedule.
Re-shoots are done only at the discretion of the photographer and are not given for regretful personal choices - i.e. hair, clothes, makeup, etc. Fees apply for re-shoots requested by the client.
I usually show a sneak peek within the first couple of business days after your session! These are posted on my Facebook and Instagram accounts and I will email you to let you know it has been posted so you don't miss them.
I encourage you to tag yourself in or click share underneath the Facebook photo to show all of your family and friends. You may also share on your own Instagram, and I just ask that you tag my account: @simplycoreyphoto.
