your teen's portrait session

WITH SIMPLY COREY PHOTOGRAPHY

Atlanta senior portrait photographer, teen photo sessions

before your session

• Getting to Know You

If you haven't already, please take a few minutes to complete the questionnaire and contract I have emailed you. This is due prior to our session and helps me get to get to know you a little better, as well as prepare for our upcoming session together.

• What to Wear ... and not to wear

I recommend bringing a few complete outfits to choose from, including accessories. First and foremost, I want you to be YOU! Make sure you choose clothing you're comfortable in.

Newer (not faded or pilly), proper fitting, wrinkle-free clothing photographs best. The camera picks up more than you think!

Sleeves are more flattering than sleeveless tops and make sure bottoms fit comfortably and aren't too tight to prevent unflattering bulges.

Please avoid small stripes or checks and stark white (off-white and ivory are okay), since these don't photograph as well.

• Interests & Props

These sessions are all about you and who you are. Be sure to bring items that are meaningful to you - but please let me know ahead of time so I can plan ahead!

• Retouching & Skin

Minor retouching is included and covers small blemishes or bruises from sports, etc. If extensive editing is needed, there will be an additional retouching fee.

Sunburns and uneven tans or tan lines will not be retouched without additional fees. Please plan ahead to avoid uneven coloring from ball caps, peeling skin on the face, “raccoon eyes” from wearing sunglasses, tan lines on shoulders, etc.

A fresh shave for guys is highly recommended and any facial hair should be neatly trimmed.

• Hair

I recommend not trying a new style or cut at the last minute and plan on wearing hair in a style you're comfortable with. If a haircut is needed before the session, plan to do so at least 1 week before to allow for a more natural look. Work with any desired hairstyles a few days before your session to get the look you want in advance.

If you dye your hair, please make sure your roots are touched up prior to our session since these will not be retouched.

Girls and guys alike should stay away from hair products that make the hair reflective or "crispy".

• Makeup & Nails

Even if you don't normally wear makeup, I encourage girls to at least wear a light coat of mascara and some lip balm or chapstick.

Avoid glitter, sparkles, highlighters, and too much lip gloss or lotion since all of these tend to reflect light and can leave spots on your skin in your images.

You're welcome to apply your makeup as you normally do or have your makeup done professionally by a local MUA.

Don't forget about your hands! Trim your nails and remove any old nail polish. If you do add color to your nails, make sure it complements your clothing choices.

• Be Ready

Be sure to get a good night's rest before your session. If you have a late night, your eyes will show it.

Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to get ready and arrive at your session. You won't want to be rushed and you want to look and feel your best.

• Have Fun!

We will have a great time together! I'm very laid back and will make every attempt to make you comfortable in front of the camera. Your session will include a mix of loosely posed and candid photos during our session and I will guide you as needed. Natural expressions are so much better than forced smiles, so you can expect me to (attempt to) make you laugh! And since these are your images, I want you to love them. So please let me know in advance if you have something specific in mind!

• Rescheduling

I completely understand getting sick or injured, I just ask that you notify me as soon as possible if you need to reschedule. If you're sick, it will show in your portraits and I want you to look your best! Plus, sharing is not caring when it comes to germs.

If inclement weather is forecast for the day of our session, we can wait until up to 1 hour before to decide if we should reschedule.

Re-shoots are done only at the discretion of the photographer and are not given for regretful personal choices - i.e. hair, clothes, makeup, etc. Fees apply for re-shoots requested by the client.
